B.C. boy assaulted while playing game with Bieber

A B.C. boy says he was assaulted while he was playing laser tag at the same time as Canadian singer Justin Bieber.

Richmond, B.C., RCMP say the father of a 12-year-old boy reported his son was assaulted by another boy on Friday just before 5:30 p.m.

"The boy sustained minimal injuries and did not require medical attention at the time of the incident," police said in the release.

Police are investigating. They have not released the name of the suspect.

"We are aware of speculations concerning the identity of one of the parties allegedly involved. However, we would like to remind the public that we do not release the names of any suspect until charges have been laid. In cases where the accused is under the age of 18, the identity of the accused is not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act," Cpl. Annie Linteau said in the release.

Several media reports have said the Stratford, Ont., singing sensation and teen heartthrob was at Planet Lazer Entertainment Centre when the alleged assault took place.

Bieber is in Vancouver for a concert Tuesday at Rogers Arena.
