Katrina Kaif Enjoys Working with Akshay Kumar

Katrina Kaif has worked with many beautiful actors of Bollywood like Cute Ranbir Kapoor, Prefect Salman Khan, Hot John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh but she reveals that she enjoyed working with her co-actor Akshay Kumarthe most.

She quips as why she enjoys working with Akshay Kumar the most, That’s because Akshay and I have done so many films together…it’s been like a journey. It’s easy to create friction on the sets of a film. But when we were doing our first film together, he had to understand me. I was a little different. But when he got to understand me, he knew that I was harmless! So he used to let me talk…so he knows how to make his co-star feel good and energetic all the time.

Katrina Kaif is extremely excited to be an integral part of ‘Rajneeti’. Many questions arise regarding her acting capability and with this film, she wanted to prove everyone wrong. Katrina said, Yes I want to be taken seriously, but that’s not an attempt to any image building. For me, it’s a great script with a great director.

Raajneeti is a very special film, different from what I’ve done so far, she added.

I Hate Love Stories Movie Review

Karan Johar has been often accused of being hyperactive on portraying candy-floss entertainment in all these years. His latest entrant I HATE LOVE STORIES, a chirpy "feel-good" romantic entertainer brings out this confrontation through the mindsets of two leading characters, played by Sonam Kapoor and Imran Khan. Experimental and urbane to core, this reality-check on love-relationships promises frothy cum peppy music in its kitty, from hot "n" happening Vishal-Shekhar (V-S). After serenading out vivaciously vibrant trendy-beat soundtracks in DOSTANA (2008), this musical duo is likely to be casting another magical spell for the producers. In the past, KJo's immaculate record and choice of soundtracks has been making right moves and so expectations are reasonably high. Can this "love-hate" chemistry of love-birds have that extra pep-fizz to lure urbane listeners? Can we expect another chartbuster from ever-dependable Vishal-Shekhar in this much accepted genre of "feel-good" cinema? Fingers crossed and hope high as we plugged into its first soundtrack with sheer optimism.

Vishal Dadlani's coarsely blended rock-cum-reggae singing attire sets the pace and space for lively love-chemistry in series of event in peppy sounding "Jab Mila Tu". Anvita Dutt Guptan punches script-oriented wordings that delivers amiable graph between odd couples that are poles apart but still communicates. Its grungy rock-appeal had stringy electric guitar blues that are paced eclectically with spirited percussive moves in groovy reggae textured beats. Like "Jane Kyun" (DOSTANA -2008), it communicates in actions rather than delivering out emotions in melody and make mood frenzy. It targets campus-capers and so does it succeed with its refreshingly tangy melodic flavors that are surely going to have many takers. The initial thump of the album is eclectic as well as affirmative to be lapped at once. Do expect it to be next cool-ish sporty number (somewhat like "Hai Junoon" from NEW YORK) among teenyboppers when its racy signature tuneful makes it loud impact on media circuits.

Hai Marjawaan Review

Hai Marjawaan is one of those films that should not have happened. It is way too strained in concept and far too outlandish in execution. It doesn't hold the audiences' interest beyond the first 10 minutes when we see the benignly murderous Mrs.Sethi (Shabana Azmi) surrounded by ghosts of the people she killed because they wouldn't let their kin be married to her overweight daughter.

The ghosts in this half-baked attempt to combine spook with satire spend the film's entire playing time counselling and cajoling the harassed Mrs.Sethi.

Beyond a point, watching the murder victims with the murder weapons permanently in place begins to get tedious and nauseous. For how long can we watch a man with chicken curry bursting out of his intestines? Or a woman with rolling-pin sticking out of her head? The ghosts try to be funny...They are just exasperating.

Make no mistake. This film has great redemptive qualities. But the romantic lead, Sendhil Ramamurthy, is certainly not one of them. After the hype about making the ladies swoon, Sendhil turns out to be pretty much a ramp-walker on camera adding precious little to a badly-written part.

On the other hand, Goldy Notay as the fat girl with no marriage prospects fills up the screen with her affectionate warmth.

It's Shabana Azmi who finally adds spark to this film. Infusing an intuitive candour to her eccentric larger-than-life character, Shabana lifts almost every sagging scene.

But where are the real warm-hearted characters from Chadha's "Bend It Like Beckham" in this one?

Ironically, the most real character in this ode to the spirit of maternal over-protectiveness is a British girl names Linda, played with effective self-irony by Sally Hawkins.

Lately returned from India after an enlightening experience, Linda's passion for Indian spiritualism in many ways defines the Westerner's quest for nirvana that makes them look ridiculous to the outsider.

In many ways the same holds true of the film. It tries too hard to move away from the stereotypes of the diaspora cinema. The elements from the dead that pursue the harrowed mom are so baroque in their other-worldliness you wonder how they ever thought they could link themselves to the fate of an unmarried Indian girl.
